Soulwarmer.

After spending a day immersing myself in the breathtaking artwork at the National Gallery Of Australia (picture everything from Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' to Pollock's 'Blue Poles'), you could say I've been in a bit of an artsy mood. So, in my creative hysteria I have stumbled upon the most organic and ethereal artworks by Gerda Steiner and Jorg Lenzlinger.

Soulwarmer (Abbey Library of St.Gall, 2005)- "Once again, emotions trickled into the library, which had reached saturation point. Natural powers and higher forces sprang forth; memories swung their arms and legs; the animalistic instinct was liberated; fragmented souls were warmed, put together afresh, and life breathed into them."

"Their installations commingle the natural with the synthetic, and link the spontaneous to the storied. Rooted equally in fantasy and allegory, their webs of falling gardens and crystal accretions offer interactive wonderlands. But, as with any good fairly tale, they include a layer of dark undergrowth. "
