Soulwarmer.

After spending a day immersing myself in the breathtaking artwork at the National Gallery Of Australia (picture everything from Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' to Pollock's 'Blue Poles'), you could say I've been in a bit of an artsy mood. So, in my creative hysteria I have stumbled upon the most organic and ethereal artworks by Gerda Steiner and Jorg Lenzlinger.

Soulwarmer (Abbey Library of St.Gall, 2005)- "Once again, emotions trickled into the library, which had reached saturation point. Natural powers and higher forces sprang forth; memories swung their arms and legs; the animalistic instinct was liberated; fragmented souls were warmed, put together afresh, and life breathed into them."

"Their installations commingle the natural with the synthetic, and link the spontaneous to the storied. Rooted equally in fantasy and allegory, their webs of falling gardens and crystal accretions offer interactive wonderlands. But, as with any good fairly tale, they include a layer of dark undergrowth. "

A night of crafting+ Lula's loveliness.

Last night i spent a few frantic hours finishing some things for my dear friend Jonny, i decided to try out a Polaroid ornament tutorial that i saw here; http://katiecupcake.blogspot.com/2009/11/tutorial-felt-polaroid-christmas.html

I'm pretty pleased with the outcome, hopefully he is too :)

Oh oh! You MUST check this beautiful video out created in collaboration by Lula Magazine and Topshop, entitled "Cast A Spell" .... it's simply enchanted.

Lady Luella.

Luella's Spring/Summer 2010 collection is both quirky and wearable. I think many of us will be incorporating some of these gorgeous bows, up-do's and love heart cut-outs into our summer wardrobes. I know I will!

Ahhh Luella, you minx!

no losers here.

So, the Finders Keepers markets did not disappoint! I was in a veritable heaven, filled with lots of artsy inspiration and a sea of crafty collectibles. Even better there was some chilled live music and lovely artworks . All in all a wonderful day, finished with a yummy blueberry tart and an interesting hair-do....ha ha.

my creative addiction.

I have decided to post a few projects I've been meaning to try out for a while, in the hope that my public pledge will spur me on to get these baby's finished... or started.

  1. A pretty puzzle necklace, found here:
    http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/puzzle-necklace

2. A customised calico bag, with a cute business shirt outline, inspired by Elinkan, but I'm thinking with the added touch of a fabric bow tie....

If you have any more crafty endeavours to suggest, I'd love to hear from you : )

The end of the beginning?

Today... is day one of my foray into the blogging world. It is also incidently the day before my brother (Evan) embarks upon his European adventure! A day full of promise. Hopefully.
I baked some cupcakes for the occasion, unfortunately pink was all we had in the pantry, personally I think it's kinda sweet. xx
