birthday blues.

Today I turned eighteen, and I must admit it's been quite an unremarkable day as far as birthday's go.
Yet, I think the wild adventures of last night, which involved much exploring of the wonders of adulthood, sort of makes up for it.
Yay.

Almost eighteen, She's a swingin' queen. Almost eighteen, Oh what a lovely dream!

So in light of the fact that this is my last week on this earth as a legal 'child'... I thought I would delight your eyes with a few beautiful photos which remind me of the joys ( and tragedies, ha!) of being young, wild, and perhaps a little...childish.

Almost Eighteen a lot of sugar and lace
Almost Eighteen with an angel face
She says I'm her kind of guy
and if I leave her she'll die uh uh
....

Almost eighteen, a ribbon in her hair
Almost eighteen, my baby's young and fair
0h-oh, I'll never let her go
Because, oh i love her so, oh-oh
....

Almost eighteen, She's a swingin' queen
Almost eighteen, oh what a lovely dream
Until the end of time
My baby's mine, all mine, uh-uh

Almost Eighteen
Almost Eighteen
Almost Eighteen
Almost Eighteen

the magic of words.

" Words, mere words! How terrible they were! How clear, and vivid, and cruel! One could not escape from them. And yet what subtle magic there was in them! ....Mere words, was there anything so real as words?"

Oscar Wilde- The Picture of Dorian Gray

To the boy kings.

My latest phase is sort of skate obsessed, probably inspired by the beautiful men featured in
Lords of Dogtown and furthered by the fact my best friend just got herself a brand spanking new board . Feel free to share in my man / skateboard lovin'.
Long haired lovelies ....

and us...

Oh my my, it's Miranda July!

So, I sort of have a girl crush on Miss Miranda July. Ever since I read her book No One Belongs Here More Than You, I can't get enough of this brown haired +blue eyed actress ( come author, come all round B-A-B-E!). She also does a fabulous job in her movie Me and You and Everyone We Know....
I think I'm in love.

"I don't want to have to do this living.
I just walk around.
I want to be swept off my feet, you know?
I want my children to have magical powers.
I am prepared for amazing things to happen.
I can handle it. "

for blue skies.

eros turannos'

FOR BLUE SKIES- strays dont sleep.

It’s been a long year,

Since we last spoke

How’s your halo?

Just between you and I

You and me and the satellites

I never believed you

I only wanted to

Before all of this

What did I miss?

Do you ever get homesick?

I can’t get used to it

I can’t get used to it

I’ll never get used to it

I’ll never get used to it .

today is a day of nostalgia, summer breeze and a little bit of sadness.

tonight will be better.

'Was it a vision, or a waking dream?' -- Bright Star ♥

So I saw Jane Campion's Bright Star last night, and felt compelled to share with you all, the magic of this love story and Keats's poetry. The film features the lovely Abbie Cornish (of Somersault and Candy fame, two other beautiful films ♥) who is perfect as Fanny. While the beautiful man of the film, Ben Whishaw ( Perfume+ Brideshead Revisited) plays the Romantic great, John Keats so so well. Plus, the cinematography is gooooorgeous. Definitely a favourite film of mine!

" Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art--"

"And there she gaz'd and sighed deep, And there I shut her wild sad eyes-- So kiss'd to sleep."

"I almost wish we were butterflies, and lived but three summer days. Three
such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could
ever contain." ♥

My favourie scene. xx
